After a fierce battle the party defeated the giant centipede, Clifton delivering the final blow. Though this was a formidable creature it appeared that it wasn’t exactly the creature they had been contracted to hunt. The beast’s mandibles weren’t big enough to match the wounds on previous carcasses. The party continued on toward their ambush site, though after the battle the day was growing old and dark. The team pressed on towards the clearing before setting up camp for the night near the clearing, hoping the Midsun Beast wouldn’t pull a reverse ambush on them through the night. A strange deer skull followed them throughout the night. On his watch Tarser wandered a bit out of camp after one of these strange deer skulls and came face to face with a large being. It appeared as though it was almost draped in cloth with only a deer skull as its defining feature. After being frozen stiff in fear by the strange being Tarser returned to the camp, spooked for the night. The group continued to the predetermined ambush clearing. The team set up their ambush in the clearing. As the final preparations were made two strangers showed up, strangely well dressed. The two strange men called themselves Klien and Olo. They seemed to talk and act a little strangely. Klien explained they were waylay-ed merchants from up north, though their story seemed sketchy at best. The quieter one, Olo, whittled out the shape of a deer skull in some wood. As Tarser, slightly perturbed by the familiar sight, knocked the carving out of Olo’s hand and Olo stood up and screamed “WHERE IS THE EYE!”.
