Following their presentation of the shield to Sil, the dangerous duo of Tarser and Gulch rejoined the party and after some brief conversation with Jack, were granted invitations to the tournament.
By the time Dinner was served Tarser, being half the side of a normal man was sloshed. Gulch encountered some Echelons (ambassadors from Lithilian) and managed to get himself seated beside them, while Tarser ended up at the top of the table near Jack.
While Gulch traded insults with the Echelons, Tarser’s drunken state led to him flapping his gums about the various exploits of the group to the well-to-do nobles and surprisingly making some allies in the process, including Buxter, an apparent expert on Epotim. Gulch too was making unlikely allies, eventually having a polite conversation with the elves and learning that Lithilian was also struggling with the plague. They invited him to join them if he was ever in Brennan.
As the party rounded off, Gulch carried Tarser back to the inn to find Maera passed out at a table and Olly missing. After tucking them both into bed, Gulch learned that Olly was last seen running butt-naked in the direction of the temple.
The following morning, Gulch, Maera and Tarser (the latter two sporting fine hangovers) headed off to Cpt. Braedus and filled him in about the dingy found upriver and made some vital steps towards negotiating a peace between the Guild and the Prefect. Speaking of which, when they headed to the Guildhouse to see if Olly had spent the night there, they discovered it had been attacked in the night by the townsfolk and One-Eye wounded in the process.
Heading on to the Temple, they discovered Olly passed out in the Iralus’ bedchamber. While Tarser paid for the half-orc’s sins (literally), Gulch took the Iralus aside and asked about the possibility of fixing the damage done to his memory. The Iralus told Gulch that there was a book that might help him and that if he returned each day at sundown he would read it to him.
With that, and many apologies, said, the group escorted the still snoring Olly back to his correct bed in the Inn.
